I am delighted to introduce you to A Riot of Colour. A cardigan created by building one block of colour onto another, steadily, when you have time, slow stitching, little by little. Take it on the train. Knit it in the waiting room. Sit on a bench with it and gaze at the sea… For your colour imagination, the sky is the limit.
The pattern contains printable templates, to allow you to let your inner child loose with the coloured pencils and play with colour to your heart’s content. Find a colourway that works for you and create a Riot of Colour of your own.
There are many comprehensive charts and tables, allowing you to work out what size will work best for you, and how to adapt that size for your ideal fit. There is also a tutorial with photographs contained within the pattern on how to:
– knit a mitred square
– knit a mitred square onto a mitred square in a column
– knit mitred squares onto new columns
– continue to build your garment knitting each square onto the last
– seam your cardigan and knit onto it your cuffs, buttonbands and hem.
I believe that if you are able to perform a knit stitch, you should be able to create this garment. No purls even. Just knitting.
