Description
A 100% wool sweater, knitted on 4mm and 5mm needles in Aran weight wool.
Wide-necked with varied stripes, a ribbed hem, and naturally curling sleeves and neckline.
Finished dimensions: bust – 42 inches, length – 28 inches.
Model pictured is 5’9” and a size 12. The sweater will fit up to a size 14 (UK) comfortably.
Although this pattern is for one finished size (an early design), there are easy-to-follow notes on how to make a larger size at the bottom of the pattern.
You will need:
- A little under 600g Aran weight wool (gauge below). I used Drops Nepal in Powder Pink, Light Beige Mix, Raspberry Rose and Camel Mix for the solid colour stripes and blocks, and Drops Big Delight in Summer Meadow and Rose Garden for the variegated stripes. Equivalent aran weight yarns.
- 4mm and 5mm circular needles (80cm and use magic loop method initially, until enough stitches to go around) 8 stitch markers tapestry needle for sewing in ends
- Gauge: 16 stitches and 22 rows per 10cm
