It is relatively simple, and might therefore even be attempted by an ambitious beginner. A squishy roll neck sits atop coils of colour block stripes. Designed in a looser style, in Drops Andes yarn which is 65% wool, 35% alpaca and super soft, with a generous body and sleeves, it is perfect for layering up for a brisk walk along South Beach.<\/p>\n<p>You can, of course, knit the whole thing in one colour if you prefer, or mix it up with stripes \u2013 the world is your oyster.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Available in 5 sizes: from a UK 10-12 to a UK 22-24 &#8211; sizes ranging from 36\u201d to 50\u201d approximately.<\/p>\n<p><strong>You will need<\/strong>:<br \/>\n\u25aa 10\/12 1100g (C1: 100g, C2: 100g, C3: 100g, C4: 200g, C5: 300g, C6: 300g) *<br \/>\n\u25aa 14\/16 1200g (C1: 100g, C2: 100g, C3: 100g, C4: 200g, C5: 400g, C6: 300g) *<br \/>\n\u25aa 16\/18 1300g (C1: 100g, C2: 200g, C3: 100g, C4: 200g, C5: 400g, C6: 300g) *<br \/>\n\u25aa 20\/22 1500g (C1: 100g, C2: 200g, C3: 100g, C4: 300g, C5, 400g, C6: 400g) *<br \/>\n\u25aa 22\/24 1600g (C1: 100g: C2: 200g, C3: 200g, C4: 300g, C5, 400g, C6, 400g) * of Drops Andes in 5 or 6 chosen colours, or a super chunky yarn of equivalent gauge.<br \/>\n\u25aa 7mm circular knitting needles 8mm circular knitting needles 9mm circular knitting needles 10mm circular knitting needles, all at least 80cm long, though I tend to buy 100cm or 120cm long (or even longer!) and use the magic loop method, so that I can try it on without the faff of transferring it to scrap yarn<br \/>\n\u25aa Stitch markers<br \/>\n\u25aa tapestry needle for sewing in ends.<br \/>\n* <em><strong>A NOTE ON YARN<\/strong><\/em> You will not use all the yarn. Because of the different colours used, you will use a lot more of the body colours, and a lot less of the yoke colours. If you were knitting it in one solid colour, it would take less yarn. For example, the 10\/12 size jumper, completed, weighs 720g. There is a lot of leftover yarn to make a hat or three with! See note below for approximately how much yarn you would need to knit this pattern in a single solid colour<br \/>\nSweater pictured is the smallest size \u2013 10\/12 \u2013 so you can see how generous it is. It would also comfortably fit a size 14.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Gauge: 10sts \/ 15 rows to 10cm<\/p>\n<p>*<em><strong>ANOTHER NOTE ON YARN<\/strong><\/em> If you were to knit this sweater in a single colour, you would need a lot less yarn. Some colours, for example, might use 3.1 balls of yarn for one colour, so you\u2019d have to buy 4. I plan to design a hat in the next little while to use up those Andes yarn scraps so that nothing is wasted.
