Dotty Stripes."},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1437\" src=\"https:\/\/aliceinknittingland.files.wordpress.com\/2016\/12\/wp-1482559243071.jpg\" alt=\"wp-1482559243071.jpg\" width=\"1564\" height=\"1564\" \/><\/p>\n<p>No. This post is not about socks.<\/p>\n<p>Although, I have to confess, I could gaze upon the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lovecrafts.com\/en-gb\/p\/beauteous-boot-socks-knitting-pattern-by-alice-neal?utm_medium=affiliate&amp;a_aid=7d8ae305\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">beauty of the beauteous boot socks<\/a> in perpetuity. I enjoy looking at them almost as much as I enjoy wearing them. And this very frosty northern morning, they are peeping above the tops of my boots and keeping my toes toasty. Over tights, no less. Yes. That&#8217;s how I roll.<\/p>\n<p>Oh, and I enjoy wearing them almost as much as I enjoy knitting them.<\/p>\n<p>But I digress.<\/p>\n<p>There is of course a limit as to the number of boot socks you can possess (although as previous posts have explained &#8211; teenaged boys + washing machine + wool socks = unmitigated disaster) and I still have quite a lot of scraps of the various yarns I used for creating them.<\/p>\n<p>Added to which, my wardrobe of preloved goodness has expanded this winter, and my colours are all rather autumnal.<\/p>\n<p>I\u00a0 needed a hat to match.<\/p>\n<p>So I made one.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2169\" src=\"https:\/\/aliceinknittingland.files.wordpress.com\/2020\/02\/2020-01-20-11-11-55.jpg\" alt=\"fbt\" width=\"938\" height=\"993\" \/><\/p>\n<p>After which, beloved son number 2 requested one (he has a very chilly wait at the bus stop on his way to college in the mornings).<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2167\" src=\"https:\/\/aliceinknittingland.files.wordpress.com\/2020\/02\/20200125105644_img_9316.jpg\" alt=\"20200125105644_IMG_9316\" width=\"1920\" height=\"1280\" \/><\/p>\n<p>And I <em>really <\/em> love the colours he chose (and banana cake. And coffee).<\/p>\n<p>After which, I made another one just because I could.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2171\" src=\"https:\/\/aliceinknittingland.files.wordpress.com\/2020\/02\/2020-01-27-10-46-08.jpg\" alt=\"2020-01-27-10-46-08\" width=\"1360\" height=\"1208\" \/><\/p>\n<p>(I also made the lebkuchen because they&#8217;re my favourite and the blooming shops have stopped selling them now that Christmas is over.
