Because I started it more moons ago than I care to remember, and I STILL haven&#8217;t finished it.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1906\" src=\"https:\/\/aliceinknittingland.files.wordpress.com\/2018\/02\/polar-bears4.jpg\" alt=\"polar bears4\" width=\"1217\" height=\"800\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I called it &#8220;The Husband Jumper&#8221; and I have promised, <em>promised<\/em>, that I will finish it&#8230;. like&#8230; now&#8230; but&#8230;.<\/p>\n<p>Right.<\/p>\n<p>To news!<\/p>\n<p>Check out this absolute gorgeousness&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1910\" src=\"https:\/\/aliceinknittingland.files.wordpress.com\/2018\/02\/12.jpg\" alt=\"1\" width=\"1500\" height=\"1000\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Malabrigo Mecha in Polar Morn and Candombe colourways.<\/p>\n<p>It. Is. Divine.<\/p>\n<p>Squishy 100% merino wool gorgeousness.<\/p>\n<p>And when it arrived&#8230; well&#8230; I just <em>had<\/em> to start a jumper. I mean, you get it, right? I may have about 3 million wips as it is, but this. *sigh* It had to be done.<\/p>\n<p>So &#8211; here was my first progress picture of my new top-down, round yoke, fairisle design:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1911\" src=\"https:\/\/aliceinknittingland.files.wordpress.com\/2018\/02\/22.jpg\" alt=\"2\" width=\"1500\" height=\"1000\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m absolutely loving it. From the squishiness of the yarn, through the definition of the stitches, and the beautiful range of colour in each strand.<\/p>\n<p>The yoke is now finished, the sleeves separated off, and the body underway:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1912\" src=\"https:\/\/aliceinknittingland.files.wordpress.com\/2018\/02\/32.jpg\" alt=\"3\" width=\"1500\" height=\"1000\" \/><\/p>\n<p>More news as and when I&#8217;ve stormed through more!<\/p>\n<p>Ooh, ooh, and actually&#8230; do you remember this?<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1521\" src=\"https:\/\/aliceinknittingland.files.wordpress.com\/2017\/02\/sublime2.jpg\" alt=\"sublime2\" width=\"1200\" height=\"800\" \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1517\" src=\"https:\/\/aliceinknittingland.files.wordpress.com\/2017\/02\/stripes-and-swirls1.jpg\" alt=\"stripes-and-swirls1\" width=\"600\" height=\"900\" \/><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.loveknitting.com\/stripes-and-swirls-sweater-knitting-pattern-by-alice-neal?a_aid=7d8ae305\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">(It&#8217;s the &#8220;Stripes and Swirls&#8221; pattern here)<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Well, I wear it <span style=\"text-decoration:underline;\">all the time<\/span> and wanted to make another, only to discover that the yarn is discontinued. Now, that wouldn&#8217;t matter &#8211; any aran of the right gauge will do &#8211; but I <em>really wanted<\/em> to use the same one.<\/p>\n<p>I have lots of the ecru left, for starters. So it makes sense to make another, but I fancied doing it &#8216;in reverse&#8217;, with the main body in colour and the patterns &#8216;in relief&#8217; if you like.<\/p>\n<p>Ebay came up trumps this time and I&#8217;ve got a lovely greeny-brown to make another with.<\/p>\n<p>Best finish the Husband Jumper first though, eh?
