{"id":1852,"date":"2017-07-07T06:58:46","date_gmt":"2017-07-07T06:58:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/aliceinknittingland.wordpress.com\/?p=1852"},"modified":"2017-07-07T06:58:46","modified_gmt":"2017-07-07T06:58:46","slug":"in-the-pink","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aliceinknittingland.co.uk\/?p=1852","title":{"rendered":"In the Pink"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>There are one or two advantages to not having a long, hot summer (though I&#8217;m a bit sensitive about the amount of rain we&#8217;ve had Oop North just lately, so do try not to bait me&#8230; \ud83d\ude09 ), the main one being longer months of wool-wearing.<\/p>\n<p>Which, when you&#8217;ve just finished pretty much your favourite jumper yet, is some small consolation to offset the bloody RAIN.<\/p>\n<p>*Harumph*<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1854\" src=\"https:\/\/aliceinknittingland.files.wordpress.com\/2017\/07\/pink-stripes3.jpg\" alt=\"pink stripes3\" width=\"1345\" height=\"900\" \/><\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s outrageously pink, but striped enough not to be candy floss, and I chose a different solid colour for the sleeves and the main body to shake things up a bit.<\/p>\n<p>The neck is wonderfully wide, and is left to furl slightly, as are the sleeves. 2-stitch raglan seams (my favourites) and a K2P2 rib at the hem are the final little details.<\/p>\n<p>I made it with Drops Nepal and Drops Big Delight, which I had LOADS of kicking around, given my total obsession with knitting <a href=\"https:\/\/aliceinknittingland.wordpress.com\/2017\/02\/14\/bring-on-the-boot-socks\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Beauteous Boot Socks<\/a> \ud83d\ude09 but any Aran weight yarn giving you a gauge of around 16 stitches per 10cm would do nicely.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1853\" src=\"https:\/\/aliceinknittingland.files.wordpress.com\/2017\/07\/pink-stripes1.jpg\" alt=\"pink stripes1\" width=\"600\" height=\"900\" \/><\/p>\n<p>If you fancy having a crack at it, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.loveknitting.com\/in-the-pink-sweater-knitting-pattern-by-alice-neal?a_aid=7d8ae305\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">you can find the pattern here<\/a>.
